February has been a month of progress, tinkering, and a bit of chaos (courtesy of Rasputin, of course 🐈⬛). Here’s what’s been happening behind the scenes:
Website Shenanigans
The big client website redesign? Done! ✅ Well, mostly. Now it’s just a waiting game for the final nod of approval. Meanwhile, I’ve started yet another redesign of LucidFox—because I realized I was dangerously close to sounding corporate. The horror. 😱 Time to dial up the fun again! ✨
Succulent Success (Mostly) 🌱
My succulents are absolutely thriving under their new grow lights—except for one rogue jade plant that has decided growing roots upwards is the way forward. I can’t tell if it’s confused or just being rebellious. Either way, I respect the audacity. 😆
Spring is also on the horizon, which means garden planning is in full swing. I love gardening 🌿, despite suffering from severe pollen allergies 🤧—because nothing says dedication like sneezing your way through spring and summer. Soon, my little patch of green will be bursting with new life (and, inevitably, a few plants that refuse to cooperate). Oh, and I can’t forget the catnip plants! (they bring all the cats to the yard)
Rasputin’s Latest Antics
As ever, Rasputin has been living up to his name. He’s discovered a new tactic for asserting dominance over the other cats—by launching surprise attacks from below. His new favorite ambush spot? Sitting on my PC tower, lying in wait for whatever unfortunate feline dares to perch on my desk. Chaos incarnate. 😼
Farewell, Herr Flick 🚗💨
February also marked the end of an era as I had to say goodbye to my beloved Citroën Saxo, Herr Flick. At a sprightly 24 years old, he’d served me well, but the time had come for his final mission—to the scrapyard. (When a new alternator costs more than the car’s scrap value, you know it’s time to go.)
I always found it hilarious giving a French car a German name (thank you, ‘Allo ‘Allo), but in true fashion, Herr Flick remained stubborn to the end. A proper send-off was had, and nothing will quite replace the character of that old Saxo—with his lack of power steering, questionable braking, and complete absence of fancy bits.
As for a replacement? Not sure I’ll bother. Since going self-employed, I’ve barely needed a car—everything I need is within walking distance 🤷🏻♀️.
Onward to March! 🌸
With spring on the way and a fresh round of projects in motion, next month is shaping up to be just as busy (and chaotic). Hopefully, Rasputin doesn’t discover more ways to stage an uprising, and my rebellious jade plant sorts itself out. Here’s to whatever March brings! 🚀
